Living locally picks up speed…

The concept of a “15-minute city” is picking up speed globally, and for good reason. In a “15-minute city” residents can meet all of their needs within a short walk or bike ride, making life in our cities more accessible & more sustainable.

Meet the team…

One of the things we are most proud of at Scarecrow is the people that make up our fabulous team. Come in store and say hi! Pictured from left: Avi Front of House, Aurelien Pastry Chef, Alessandra Front of House, Andrew Head Chef.

Graduation time…

It’s that time again. Scarecrow sends huge congratulations to new graduates; an even more special achievement this year under high-pressure circumstances and uncertainties faced. As always, you’ll be able to pick up Graduation Bouquets from the Scarecrow Flower Foyer at 33 Victoria St East, but we do recommend pre-ordering online to avoid missing out!

Recipe share: Black tahini & banana hotcakes

Not quite paleo, these easy banana cakes are a high protein alternative to pancakes. Made with black tahini (black sesame seed paste) they have lots of calcium too.

From the founders…
It has been a busy few weeks! We have been humbled by the support we’ve received at our new Scarecrow Grocer in Mt Eden Rd, and at our flagship Scarecrow at 33 Victoria St East in the city during a tumultuous time, particularly for small businesses. We are so grateful for your wonderful feedback and patronage of both stores, and would love you to continue to share the Scarecrow love amongst friends, families and colleagues. Thank you so much! Alison, Paul (& Milton).
