It’s been a weird year, and a very, very weird year for mothers! Many of our staff are really feeling the distance from their families who are overseas, and especially an embrace from their Mama. Many of our friends are unable to greet those precious new arrivals in their families as daughters and daughters-in-law deliver babies overseas – and worse still, they can’t support them in the immediate way they would wish to through the trials of the early months. A trial for both mothers and their far flung children!
For some of us, in our role as both mothers and daughters, it’s been tough supporting our mums through ‘lock downs’.
Altogether we must recognise there has been much tumult for everyone over the past year.
So do stop for a moment this Mother’s Day to take some time to appreciate, recognise and give back to your mum or other person who has become that loved nurturer in your life. We all need that unconditional embrace of caring! Scarecrow has a whole raft of ideas for how you can spoil your mum.
