10 Mar Catching a headwind
I’m writing this as tension mounts around the duelling boats fighting it out on the harbour under heavy Auckland skies. Palpable tension is in the air, many visitors have come into Auckland from around the country to share in the excitement, finally it feels like a vibrant city again! Let’s hope we can sustain the heady feeling of optimism and the pleasure of being together again.
In parallel, the days are shortening and the nearness of Easter tells us that the seasons are changing. The stunning summer hydrangea blooms are changing their appearance, transforming themselves into acid greens tinged with burgundy. Ready to dry and make the perfect long lasting arrangements. Get them while you can! And of course we’ll have plenty of Easter goodies to make your celebration special. Look out for specialty items in our chocolate range, and stay tuned for tulips from Scarecrow Flowers. ‘Tis the season also to look forward to upcoming festivals! The first off the rank will be the 16th International Doc Edge Film Festival, running through June (and into July!) and we are always proud to be associated with this. Changing of the guard
Last week we bid arrivederci to our wonderful Alessandra, whom we will greatly miss. Not breaking with tradition we have welcomed Anna as Front of House Manager at Scarecrow in the City. Yes, another Italian addition to the Scarecrow family! We know you’ll welcome her warmly.
